The Association for Christian Fundraising Announces Shasta Foy, CAE, as New Executive Director
September 25, 2024 – The Association for Christian Fundraising (ACF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Shasta Foy, CAE (Certified Association Executive), as the organization’s new Executive Director, effective October 1, 2024. Shasta brings a wealth of experience in association management, strategic planning, and program management, coupled with a passion for driving organizational growth, diversity, and efficiency.
Shasta succeeds Laurie Brill, who has served as Executive Director with dedication and distinction. Under Laurie’s leadership, ACF has seen significant advancements, including the rebranding and expanded reach of the organization, and the board expresses deep gratitude for her service.
Mike Nevergall, CFRE, President of the ACF Board, expressed his enthusiasm for the appointment, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Shasta as our next Executive Director. Her passion and vision for the potential impact of ACF, combined with her experience leading associations, will build on the organization’s strong trajectory.”
Shasta has held several leadership positions in prominent organizations, including her recent role as Director of Diverse Organization of Firms and Chapter Relations at the National Association of Black Accountants, as well as 18 years with the Society of Petroleum Engineers International. A former collegiate and professional athlete, Shasta is also an award-winning leader in her own volunteer work as President of the Dallas/Fort Worth Association Executives. Her expertise in strategic planning, diversity, inclusion, and cross-functional collaboration will be invaluable as she steps into this critical role at ACF.
“I’m thrilled to return to my professional roots in ministry as I join ACF," Shasta said. "I believe we can change the world together, by inspiring fundraisers, and I look forward to our work together.”
The search for the new Executive Director was conducted in partnership with GSB Fundraising and included an exhaustive national search. The board is grateful for the diligent efforts of the search committee, led by David Fuerst (Chair), alongside committee members Jeri Pat Gabbert, CFRE; Heidi Rixman, CFRE; Emily Fahey; and Doug Walters.
Please join us in welcoming Shasta Foy to ACF as we look forward to this exciting new chapter in our organization’s history.
